Francesca Scorsese has responded to the wave of online abuse that followed the announcement that she had landed a role in the second season of the film «"Mr and Mrs Smith"» .
As reported by The New York Post , The 26-year-old actress and director, the youngest daughter of legendary director Martin Scorsese, responded to criticism in a TikTok video after trolls bombarded her comments with insults about her appearance and accusations that her career exists solely because of her famous last name.

Francesca said the reaction went beyond the usual online criticism of celebrity children for their extramarital affairs. After she reposted news about her upcoming role in the Prime Video series, she said she received some of the "most horrific comments" she'd ever received.
Acknowledging the privileges of being Scorsese's daughter, she made it clear she continues to work hard. "I know doors are open for me," she said in the video. "I'm still trying to work, I'm still working hard, I'm still enthusiastic, and I'm still creating.".
The comments quickly escalated into personal attacks. Francesca said users mocked her weight and appearance, with some comparing her to "Miss Piggy" and "a refrigerator." She responded to the insults directly, saying, "I'm not the thinnest girl in the world. I'm chubby, I know that. But what the hell does that matter?"«
She also condemned the culture where people target strangers online simply to humiliate them, adding that social media bullying can have serious consequences in the real world.
