This podium finish is the Scottish electronic duo's best ever position and their first top 10 entry, easily surpassing the 24th place of their last album. Brothers Mike Sandison and Marcus Eoin of Boards of Canada were locked in a fierce battle in the UK charts midweek with Paul McCartney's album The Boys of Dungeon Lane (Capitol/Universal) . In the latest ARIA all-genre chart, released Friday evening, June 5, McCartney's new album debuted at No. 5 on the album chart. This is one of McCartney's 18 appearances in the top 10 of the Australian album chart, according to ARIA, two of which reached No. 1: Red Rose Speedway groups Wings and Band On The Run , both in 1973. As a member of The Beatles, the two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legend scored more than a dozen number ones on the ARIA Chart.
The chart also features a new Florida rock band, Shinedown, with their eighth studio album. EI8HT (Atlantic/Warner) It debuted at No. 7.
Amber Lawrence's album takes first place among new domestic releases. Suburban Cowgirl (ABC/Orchard), which opens at No. 18. Lawrence, the reigning winner of the Country Music Awards of Australia's Female Artist of the Year award (one of her six Golden Guitar Awards), peaked at No. 5 with her latest album. Living for the Highlights 2022.
South Korean girl group Aespa achieved the best result of their career with Lemonade album (Virgin/Universal) , with his second studio album. It debuted at number 24. Aespa's previous best result was number 55 with Girls album 2022. Below on the list, Australian singer Chloe Parche hit the top 40 with her latest EP Sitting Next to Nellie (AWAL), debuting at 34th place, with Devin Townsend close behind at The Moth album (Century Media/Sony), which debuted at number 36.
Meanwhile, at the top of the league table is Iceman (Republic/Universal) Drake, who moves up 2-1 with his second straight win.
The ARIA Singles Chart saw a country hit: Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" (Sony) reached number one for a third consecutive week (not consecutive). "Choosin' Texas" climbed from number two to number one.
Ariana Grande topped the chart debut with "Hate That I Made You Love Me" (Republic/Universal), which reached No. 2. "Hate That I Made You Love Me," the first track from her upcoming eighth studio album Petal , became Grande's 31st single to reach the top 20. In total, she has four singles that reached number one on the ARIA Chart: "No Tears Left To Cry" (2018), "Thank U, Next" (2018), "7 Rings" (2019), and "Positions" (2020).
«"Hate That I Made You Love Me" is the only newcomer on the latest cover, which features two Australian-produced tracks: Tame Impala's platinum "Dracula" (dropping from No. 6 to No. 7 on Columbia/Sony) and G Flip's "Bed on Fire" (rising from No. 48 to No. 33, reaching a new peak on AWAL).
