It's Wednesday, and Weezer is here! The band has released their new single, "We Might As Well Be Strangers," featuring vocals from band member Carly Hartzman. "Shine Again" is the first single from album Weezer in April.
«"Plated in what's called gold in surface finishing tools, it's emblazoned with the name Weezer. Its surface is marked with four symbols believed to represent its creators," Weezer shared on Instagram, captioning the album's vibrant gold cover. "Take it to the Gathering and witness what's to come.".

The 10-track album will be Weezer's first full-length LP in five years, following 2021's Van Weezer. This time, producers Klas Ahlund and Kenneth Blum joined the work on the album, who wanted to create «the most brutal Weezer album ever.» The album Weezer will be celebrating their legacy and looking to the future, with the band unveiling their upcoming Weezer: The Gathering Tour, which kicks off in September.
In February, Rivers Cuomo confirmed on Weezer's Discord channel that the band had completed recording the album. Fans have already heard various versions of some tracks, such as "Up in the Clouds," which was originally intended as a demo during the album's production. Everything Will Be Alright in the End , released in 2014.
In 2023, Cuomo said Collider, The band's next album will feature a song called "CEO," a sequel to "The Sweater Song." "It's completely metaphorical and mind-blowing," he said. With the album's release and upcoming tour, fans have plenty to rejoice about. Last year, Cuomo also confirmed during their Coachella performance that "we've been busy filming a Weezer movie in Los Angeles for the last couple of weeks.".
