In the modern age of streaming, miniseries based on films, whether movies or books, are nothing new, but «"Cape Fear" , Apple's 10-part adaptation of John D. MacDonald's novel «The Executioners» and two film adaptations, boasts a stellar cast.

Replicating the success of screen icons like Robert Mitchum and Robert De Niro is no easy task, but critics agree that Bardem is up to the task.
«"Javier Bardem carries the show (at least for eight of the 10 episodes provided for review, and precisely when the plot threatens to go off the rails)," writes Ben Travers for IndieWire. "The new Max Cady isn't just a perfect amalgamation of his previous roles, able to maximize his mesmerizing menace in a big, sweeping manner ( «Skyfall» ), as well as reducing it to a powerful, precise timbre ( «"No Country for Old Men"» "He's also adept enough to flesh out Cady's demons in a way that best serves the show. It's hard to refute the accusation that "this could have been made into a movie" when the original novel has already been adapted into a film twice. However, «Cape Fear» It ends up being quite interesting, even if it takes a few hours.
