Marvel Studios' first series on the streaming platform has been confirmed to have four seasons. Since Marvel Studios began producing content for Disney+, most MCU shows have been miniseries or have not been renewed, with rare exceptions like What If...? and Loki. Since then, Marvel has shifted its television strategy, resulting in more recurring series, one of which is currently in development for a fourth season.
«X-Men '97 is a revival of the classic '90s series from Marvel Animation, and although much time has passed between seasons, Marvel hasn't lost confidence in its mutant superhero show. Marvel Studios, represented by executive producer Larry Houston, announced before the release of the trailer for X-Men '97's second season that the animated series has been ordered for a fourth season (according to Entertainment Weekly).
The producer said: «"We're working on Season 4, making comments on the script,", Confirming that Season 4 isn't just an idea, but is already in full swing. He added that the two-year break between seasons won't be the same as Seasons 1 and 2, confirming: «"Now the break between seasons will be only one year.".
If all goes according to Houston's plan, that means X-Men '97 season 3 will premiere in 2027, and X-Men '97 season 4 will premiere in 2028. X-Men '97 season 2 is confirmed to premiere on Disney+ on July 1.
Thus, X-Men '97 became the first Marvel Studios series to hit the streaming platform and reach its fourth season. However, this isn't the only series the studio has confirmed its return, with several other projects expected to be renewed.

Daredevil: Rebirth
After Marvel Studios revived the Marvel era on Netflix with Daredevil: Rebirth, a new television saga began for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Defenders is now available on Disney+, and Marvel has shown great confidence in its success by renewing it for a third season even before the second one aired. A fourth season is still unknown, but given the interest in Charlie Cox's character, it seems highly likely.
Marvel Zombies
Marvel Animation's first R-rated series on Disney+ has been a hit, with Marvel Zombies reportedly exceeding Disney's expectations. This gory animated zombie series, filmed in a What If... style, follows the surviving Avengers in a zombie apocalypse as they battle their zombie comrades.
While Marvel Studios has yet to officially announce a renewal for the series, Winderbaum mentioned earlier this year that he had seen «"first animatic of the first episode"» second season of Marvel Zombies, hinting that work on it is being done behind the scenes at the studio.
Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man
Another non-canonical Marvel Cinematic Universe project, yet a hit nonetheless, is Marvel Animation's animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which follows Peter Parker through his high school years. The second season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is scheduled for release in 2026, and the third season already looks promising.
In 2025, before the first season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man aired, Winderbaum mentioned that the series had received «"green light up to and including the third season", which marked another annual release in Marvel Studios' television lineup.
Miracle Man
«Wonder Man is the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe original series to arrive on Disney+, starring Yahya Abdul-Mattin II as Simon Williams, the actor and secret superhero who portrays Wonder Man in the film, and Ben Kingsley reprising his role as Trevor Slattery.
