Massive Attack will return to Australia for their first solo shows since 2010. Three arena dates have been confirmed for August in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.
The Bristol-based outfit, fronted by Robert "3D" Del Naja and Grant "Daddy G" Marshall, will perform at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on August 6, Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena on August 9 and Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena on August 11.

These concerts are being organized by Frontier Touring and will be the band's first performances in Australia in 16 years. Pre-sale tickets for Frontier members open Thursday, June 4 at 2:00 PM local time, with general sales beginning Friday, June 5 at 3:00 PM local time at frontiertouring.com/massiveattack.
The announcement coincides with the release of a new collaboration with Tom Waits, 'Boots on the Ground', Massive Attack's first new material in a long time and a clear sign that the band remains creatively active more than three decades after their formation as Bristol sound system outfit Wild Bunch.
Few bands can boast the same influence as Massive Attack. Their 1991 debut album Blue Lines , often cited as the record that launched trip-hop, reached number 13 on the UK Albums Chart and has since been included in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
Their third album Mezzanine (1998) topped the UK Albums Chart and included the song "Teardrop", which later became internationally famous as the theme song to the American television series« Dr. House» , and "Angel," both of which are now considered iconic recordings of the era. Mezzanine peaked at number 60 on the Billboard 200 chart—their highest US chart position—and sold over 3.5 million copies worldwide.
Their fourth album, 100th Window (2003), also topped the UK Albums Chart, giving the band two UK No. 1 albums. Heligoland , their fifth and final studio album, was released in 2010 – the same year they last visited Australia – and debuted at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart.
Massive Attack's concerts have long been considered some of the most visually and sonically captivating in music, incorporating large-scale political messages, custom-designed audiovisual systems, and collaborations with artists such as Adam Curtis, United Visual Artists, and Robert Del Naja's own art practice.
