Olivia Rodrigo has released a snippet of "What's Wrong With Me," a song featuring The Cure's Robert Smith, from the second half of her long-awaited new album. You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love , live at the Primavera Sound 2026 festival. The presentation of their duet came just hours after Rodrigo made a surprise announcement of her performance at the music festival in Barcelona, Spain, on Saturday evening (June 6).
On track ten, the song touches on the theme of "you look pretty sad" in the context of her upcoming album's story. This marks the first time Rodrigo has invited another artist to appear on an album track.

«"I can't believe this song exists, performed by this person. I'm so fucking happy," Rodrigo said of her songwriting partner Smith, introducing "What's Wrong With Me" to the crowd on the Occident Stage at Parc del Forum. At the end of Rodrigo and The Cure frontman's duet—immediately after embracing her musical idol turned friend (and now official collaborator)—the pop star confessed, "I think I'm going to cry... I can't believe this happened in the real world and wasn't just a figment of my imagination.".
In the lyrics to «What’s Wrong With Me,» she’s «sliding downhill.» «I feel out of place, and nothing’s working,» Rodrigo sings in the pre-chorus, followed by: «Went to the doctor and she said I was fine/ But every movie I saw made me cry/ Like somebody put a weight on my chest/ I should talk to a friend, but I can’t get out of bed/ I’m feeling dizzy and nauseous/ They say I’m in love, but I find it hard to tell/ I can’t eat, I can’t sleep/ I think you’re what’s wrong with me.».
The second verse features Smith, who echoes Rodrigo's thoughts on relationships: "My head's pounding all the time, just thinking, 'What if this isn't what I want?'"«
From this point on, throughout the bridge and outro of the song, they add their vocals to the chorus.
Before the album's release You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love There's only one week left; the full album will be available Friday, June 12th via Geffen Records.
On Saturday morning, Rodrigo posted on Instagram Stories about her previously unannounced performance at the Primavera festival, scheduled for 10:25 PM local time, though she remained silent until after the show. "Surprise!!!" she captioned a photo of herself giving a thumbs-up on the festival grounds. "See you tonight, primavera_sound... I'm so excited.".
Last year, the pair performed together at Glastonbury Festival, where they performed The Cure's "Friday I'm In Love" and "Just Like Heaven" together.
Rodrigo Smith's admiration continues on "Drop Dead," the album's title track. You Seem Pretty Sad… (which immediately reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart), she playfully inserts the song's title, "Just Like Heaven," into the first verse.
Rodrigo and Smith's surprise performance Saturday night at Primavera Sound came months before the singer-songwriter's sold-out arena tour. Rodrigo will kick off her Unraveled tour in September in Hartford, Connecticut, and will then tour North America and Europe in support of her third studio album. The tour's title references a line from her latest single, "The Cure," which reached No. 1 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart and No. 5 on the Hot 100 in its first week of release.
In addition to the premiere of the song "What's Wrong With Me", Rodrigo's performance at the Primavera Sound festival included performances of his two latest singles ("Drop Dead" and "The Cure"), as well as hits from the album Sour and Guts .
The third day of the Primavera Sound festival took place on Saturday, beginning with severe weather conditions that forced the cancellation of many Thursday performances, including headliners Doja Cat and Massive Attack. The festival resumed on the second day, and as expected, The Cure, Skrillex, Pink Pantheress, and others took the stage on Friday.
