Lontrell Williams Sr., the father of Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty, was released from federal custody Wednesday (May 27) after a judge granted him bond pending the trial of all nine defendants, Fox13 reports. The Commercial Appeal .
Prosecutors asked to revoke Williams Sr.'s release, but a federal judge denied the request.
Williams is one of nine people charged in the alleged robbery and kidnapping of Gucci Mane (real name Radric Davis). The defendants also include Poo Shisti, real name Lontrell Williams Jr., and fellow rapper Big30 (Rodney Wright Jr.).
Prosecutors allege that on January 10, Pooh Shiesty and his accomplices brought Gucci Mane to a Dallas recording studio under the guise of a business meeting and album recording.

Investigators allege that once inside, Pooh Shiesty pulled out a machine gun and forced Gucci Mane at gunpoint to sign a release agreement for the recording, while other group members allegedly took money and jewelry from Gucci Mane and other victims.
Pooh Shiesty, Big 30, and other defendants were arrested in April after authorities raided the elder Williams' home in Tennessee. At a hearing on April 8, the FBI confirmed that Gucci Mane had given police a statement regarding the alleged incident. Both Pooh Shiesty and Big 30 have pleaded not guilty but remain behind bars after their bail was revoked.
A final preliminary hearing before U.S. District Court Senior Judge David Godbey is scheduled for July 1 in Dallas federal court, and the full trial is scheduled to begin on July 6. As we previously reported, a conviction on all counts could result in life imprisonment for each of the nine defendants.
