Veteran R&B singer Peabo Bryson, best known for his duets in Disney films "Aladdin" and "Beauty and the Beast," has suffered a stroke and is undergoing treatment, his representative said in a statement released Sunday to the publication. Variety .

Bryson, 75, is best known for his sweet voice and popular ballad duets. He achieved success with the two aforementioned songs—duets with Celine Dion and Regina Belle, respectively, from popular Disney films—as well as "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love," "You're Looking Like Love to Me," and "As Long as There's Christmas.".
A native of South Carolina, Bryson began his career in the 1970s as a member of the band Moses Dillard and the Tex-Town Display. He signed with the independent Atlanta label Bang Records as a solo artist and released his first album in 1976, before moving to Capitol Records the following year.
A long string of R&B hits followed, including "Feel the Fire" and "Reaching for the Sky" in 1977, and "I'm So into You" and "Crosswinds" the following year. In 1984, he scored his first Top 10 pop hit with "If Ever You're in My Arms Again," followed by "Show and Tell" and "Can You Stop the Rain." In 1985, he appeared on the soap opera One Life to Live, singing the theme song; this version was later adapted as the series' theme song and was featured in every episode for the next seven years.
During this period, his duets with female singers became hits, and he continued in this vein throughout the next decade. In 1983, he recorded an album of duets with Roberta Flack, titled "Born to Love," and in the following years, he achieved success with Angela Bofill ("For You and I"), released a series of duets with Regina Belle, and several of the aforementioned hits.
