On Tuesday's episode of the Today show, Lopez and Goldstein appeared to promote their upcoming film, "Office Romance." Guthrie took the opportunity to ask J.Lo if the rumors about her affair with Goldstein were true. "There's never a time when I've been seen with someone or when I'm working with someone and they haven't tried to set me up with them," Lopez said. Jokingly adding to Lopez's answer, Goldstein said that such rumors arise when someone is standing next to her. So, he's standing much closer to her.
Guthrie didn't take this as a definitive answer, despite Lopez's insistence. She stated bluntly that Lopez hadn't answered "yes" or "no" when asked if they were romantically involved. The singer, known for her hit "On the Floor," explained, "Because I was hooked up with all these people! I think I dated Kevin Costner this year, I dated a lot of people. It happens all the time. But that doesn't make it true.".
When the rumors left Lopez a little irritated, Guthrie tried to defuse the tension with a compliment. The host said, "That's what happens when you're, like, an attractive single woman." She asked one last time if they were dating, and Lopez confirmed they weren't, to which Goldstein replied, "Right.".
In a previous interview on "Good Morning America," Lopez revealed that she's currently happy in her single life. "I'm in my happy place. I feel like for the first time in my life, I'm free. I'm on my own. And it's really great. I haven't known what that was like since my early twenties, and even before that, I've always had a boyfriend. There's always been someone in my life, and there were a lot of other things that I felt were out of my control," she explained.
