Taylor Swift has finally confirmed her participation in a new film. «Toy Story ».
After weeks of fan speculation, complete with mysterious billboards and cryptic website countdowns, the 36-year-old singer announced Monday that Taylor Swift fans were right in guessing she was in a cartoon. «Toy Story 5» , which will be released in cinemas on June 19.
«"You knew it!" Swift wrote to her fans in an Instagram post announcing that her new song for the film, titled "I Knew It, I Knew You," would be released on June 5.
«I always dreamed of writing scripts for these characters, whom I adored since I was five years old, when I watched the first cartoon «Toy Story »" she said.
«I instantly fell in love with «Toy Story 5, when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and wrote this song as soon as I got home from watching it. Sometimes you just know, right?»

Fans can pre-order collector's editions of Swift's new song on her website until June 3. The editions will include the single as it appears in the film, a special acoustic version, and a special piano version.
Although the new song shares a title with Gracie Abrams' 2024 release "I Knew It, I Know You," Swift said in a statement that the new song is original. The press release confirmed that the song, written and produced by Swift and Jack Antonoff, is a return to the star's country roots and is based on the story of her beloved cowgirl heroine, Jessie.
The confirmation comes after new billboards installed over the weekend fueled speculation about Swift's involvement in the film, as they featured giant letters "TS," leaving fans divided over whether it was an abbreviation of the singer's name or the name of the film franchise.
The letters were surrounded by 13 animated clouds, which is known to be Swift's favorite number.

This isn't the first time Swift has written an original song for a film. Most recently, her song "Carolina" was included on the soundtrack for the 2022 film «Where the Crayfish Sing» .
