Taylor Swift gave fans an unexpected surprise at the world premiere of "Toy Story 5" on Tuesday. After the screening, the pop star took the stage, sat down at the piano, and performed "I Knew It, I Knew You," her new song from the film's soundtrack.

Before her performance, Swift was moved to tears upon learning of her involvement in the beloved franchise. She told the audience that being part of the Toy Story universe meant a lot to her, even naming Toy Story 5 as her favorite installment in the series. Praising the film, she described it as "incredibly beautiful" and called it a "masterpiece" (according to Variety).

Swift also shared a special moment with longtime Toy Story composer Randy Newman, performing the iconic song "You've Got a Friend in Me" with him. Although she skipped the red carpet, she later joined the cast for a large group photo at the Dolby Theatre.

Her appearance came just days after the release of "I Knew It, I Knew You," a song she co-wrote with Jack Antonoff for Jessie, the toy cowgirl voiced by Joan Cusack. In a touching social media post, accompanied by a home video from her childhood, Swift said writing music for Jessie was both nostalgic and exciting. She also thanked director Andrew Stanton and expressed appreciation to Newman for shaping the franchise's unforgettable sound over the years.

Released in 1995, Toy Story launched Pixar's flagship franchise. Before the fifth film, the series included four main films and several spin-offs. Tom Hanks voices Woody; Tim Allen plays Buzz Lightyear; and Joan Cusack returns as Jessie.

In "Toy Story 5," Woody and Buzz reunite to help Bonnie after a new smart tablet, the "Lilypad," threatens to take over the children's lives. Familiar characters, including Forky, Slinky Dog, Hamm, and Trixie, also return for this adventure.
