"The View" host Sunny Hostin proudly uses ChatGPT, especially when it comes to communicating within her marriage. And on Thursday morning, Kara Swisher mocked her for it.
During the "Trending Topics" segment, the ABC hosts discussed the recent surge of interest in AI from celebrities—particularly female celebrities—like Demi Moore, Reese Witherspoon, and others. Hostin joked that she "currently has a PhD in ChatGPT" and noted that she regularly uses the program as a therapist and marriage counselor.
«"Please don't do that," Swisher, who is replacing Joy Behar this week, immediately interrupted.
Hostin further explained that she uses ChatGPT to make her emails and text messages to her husband "more enjoyable," which prompted Swisher to further confirm this.
«"Don't you have a friend we could do this with?" she retorted.
Nevertheless, Swisher was quick to acknowledge that she defends Witherspoon's comments about the need to educate women about artificial intelligence. But she added that the discussion about AI must also address its dangers.
«"You can be right and still not talk about security issues," she said. "Then you'll look like a stooge of the incredibly rich. That's the real problem, and when you talk about that, you have to also mention the many security concerns.".
«"They didn't mention that," Swisher added. "They didn't mention the data centers and the damage. The climate damage and the actual money of all these billionaires who are sitting in the same room with Trump. He has an advisory board, by the way. There's not a single critic on it, not a single scientist, no—I think there's one woman on it.".
The View airs weekdays at 11:00 a.m. ET on ABC.
