Marlon and Shawn Wayans were guests on the program The View on Thursday (June 4), presenting its long-awaited sequel, "Very Scary Movie 6» , and Marlon revealed exactly how much he was paid for the role that became legendary in In Living Color show .
Shawn Wayans, one of the youngest of 10 now-grown children, said he and Marlon would constantly impersonate their older siblings when they came home.
«"We used to do skits and parodies about people coming home from California, trying to make it in Hollywood, and coming to visit. Marlon and I would do those skits. More often than not, it didn't work out," he said.
Marlon added, "But sometimes when we were doing sketches, they'd say, 'Oh, there's something funny about that'... I remember Damon paying me five dollars because he wanted [to buy the parody]. There's a guy in my neighborhood named Oswald Bates... and he was self-taught, so he used a lot of complicated words: 'philanthropic, biological...' And Damon would say, 'Oh, that's funny. I'll give you five dollars for that,' and he made that character a huge hit in the show "In Living Color" “».
When the hosts criticized the amount, Waynes defended him, saying, "Do you know how much candy I got for that five dollars? That's a million dollars for a five-year-old.".
When asked if they were interested in reviving the show «In Living Color» , Shawn referred the question to his older brothers, Keenen Ivory Wayans and Damon Wayans, but added: "We would love to do a special one day. «In Living Color» , get everyone together and make a half-hour or hour-long, really funny special.".
In another segment of the interview, Marlon also revealed that the decision to reunite the family for the filming of another film "Scary Movie"« after a 25-year hiatus from the franchise (they didn't produce «Scary Movie 3» , «4» и «"5 »") was adopted after their father, on his deathbed, urged them to do so.
