Holland explained that the actors were filming a scene they'd already shot, with the camera pointed at him. They were about to continue filming, with the cameras now pointed at Zendaya, when he sensed something was wrong.

«"We were doing a story about her—and I would never in a million years have said that to an actress I hadn't worked with," Holland began, "so I said, 'Do you think this scene is good?' And she said, 'No. I don't think this scene is good at all.'".

Encouraged, Holland passed their question on to the producers and asked again, "Do you think this scene works?"«

When they came to the agreement that nothing was working out, he replied, «Yes, Z and I don’t like this at all.».

Holland then approached director Destin Daniel Cretton and said, "Hey, man, listen, I know we've been filming for hours, and I hate to say this, but I just don't think this scene is working. Zee and I aren't feeling the way we should be feeling right now.".

Holland praised Cretton for listening to him and staying "calm" while addressing their concerns. "He told the crew, 'Everyone can go home, and we'll sit down and rewrite this scene.'".

Holland said they reshot the scene the very next day, adding, "I'm so glad we did it because it looks great in the movie.".

Besides praising Cretton for his openness, Holland attributed the adaptation to the trust he has in Zendaya, noting that he would never have asked that question when working with anyone else.

«"It was so funny, I thought, if it hadn't been Zendaya sitting across from me... imagine if someone else on the report had asked, 'Do you think this works?'" he said, asking the question with a mocking tone.

«"What I love about her acting is her fearlessness. She's absolutely fearless, she gives it her all," Holland said. "When you watch her as Rue, she's completely different from her real-life self. And when you see her as Emma in TV series "Drama"« , it's a completely different game, but no less purposeful, passionate and energetic.".
