Types of maintenance for the DZ-98 motor grader

Motor grader maintenance can be categorized by timeframe. There are three types, all performed according to the machine's technical documentation:

  1. Monthly;
  2. Periodic;
  3. Seasonal maintenance.

A certain number of engine hours is allocated for the maintenance of each unit.

Monthly maintenance

Monthly maintenance is typically performed directly by the motor grader operator. This is only done at companies with a large fleet of this type of equipment. Special teams are created to perform this maintenance. This is convenient when the grader is away from its base in the field for extended periods. The team arrives in a special vehicle with the necessary equipment and carries out all the work. During monthly maintenance, the machine's condition is assessed, minor repairs are performed, and the mechanisms are lubricated.

Periodic technical inspection

To conduct periodic technical inspections, special schedules are drawn up that take into account technical standards, motor grader operating modes, and the driver's professionalism.

This inspection is best performed in a specially equipped workshop or, at a minimum, in a mobile workshop with the appropriate equipment. It involves replacing or repairing worn parts, assessing the condition of the vehicle's engine and transmission, and performing routine or major repairs, depending on the number of hours the vehicle has been used. It is performed only by specially trained technicians who guarantee their work.

Seasonal maintenance

Seasonal maintenance is performed where significant changes in motor grader operating conditions occur throughout the year. Batteries are prepared, and routine maintenance of motor grader components is performed. Oil and coolant are also changed, and the fuel tanks and crankcases are flushed. Maintenance and repairs should only be performed by qualified specialists who provide a warranty on the work performed.
