Britney Spears responded with humor to a negative experience in the beauty industry.
On Friday, August 7, the singer issued a warning to her Instagram followers to "be careful with your body" after revealing that a recent Botox procedure had left her with noticeable side effects.
The singer, known for her hit "Toxic," claims the doctor "injected so much Botox into my left eye that it drooped like this," and "it's only now starting to pop back up and get back to normal," she said, admitting the whole experience was "very awkward." She pressed her fingers to her left eye to show her followers exactly what happened.
«"Girls, you have to be careful if you get Botox," she continued.
The singer revealed that her eye had been drooping for about four weeks and urged her 42 million followers to be careful and seek doctors for similar procedures because "they're trying to change your face.".
«"Take care of your body because it's yours and you own it. That's all there is to it," the Grammy Award winner added.

This isn't the first time the singer, known for her hit "Oops I Did It Again," has had a bad experience with injections. In 2023, she told her followers she wanted to give up injections after her eyelids began to droop.
«"I got Botox, and I didn't really like it because it swelled up my forehead, making my eyelids heavy and droopy, and I literally looked like I'd been beaten up. And paying that kind of money to look like you've been beaten up for the first two weeks... what's the point?" she explained at the time, as reported by Metro .
«"Too often these so-called 'top doctors' do amazing Botox. Never again in LA. I got my first lip injections in NYC. Not the same as in LA... so seamless, turned out beautiful lips," Spears wrote on Instagram in August 2023. "I probably haven't gotten lip injections right in 10-15 years... I couldn't even see an appointment for two weeks [after the procedure].".
Edition Metro also notes that pain and bruising at the injection site, drooping of the eyelids and eyebrows, and headaches are common side effects of Botox injections.
The post came shortly after Britney shared a heartbreaking confession about "failing as a mother." In a lengthy statement, she admitted she felt like a failure because her sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, don't believe in God.
The "...Baby One More Time" singer also noted in her emotional post that because of her childhood fame, she "never got to be me, the real Spears.".
«"I used to be incredibly smart, but I've been completely brainwashed into an ignorant system where every single person took advantage of me," she continued in her post. "I miss that sparkle in my eyes, that sense of life I had when I was younger, my eagerness to please and my lust for life. I was incredibly passionate about everything.".
