Comedian and political commentator Bill Maher complained to my ex to the vice president To Mike Pence that the president Donald Trump does not take well to dissent, no matter what he is praised for.
In Friday's episode of the program » Real Time with Bill Maher" on The former guest of the interview on the HBO channel was Vice President Mike Pence , the 48th Vice President of the United States and author of What Conservatives Believe: Rethinking the Conservative Conscience.
The guests of the discussion included: Senator Chris Murphy , a Democratic senator from Connecticut and author of the new book, "Crisis of the Common Good: The Struggle for Meaning and Connection in a Broken America"; and Susan Rice , former US Ambassador to the United Nations, former US National Security Advisor and former Director of the Domestic Policy Council.
During his interview with Pence, Maher continued his campaign to convince the president that he doesn't have "Trump obsession syndrome":
Former Vice President Mike Pence: I just want people to know that while the Trump administration has done a lot of things right, securing the border, extending tax cuts…
BILL MAHER: And by the way, I was saying that... Yeah, he said on the show that you have to agree with him on 100%, otherwise he'll hate you. You know, then you just become part of this thing that I agree with, which is that there's such a thing as Trump syndrome, you know, where people just hate everything.
He could cure cancer tomorrow and there would still be people who wouldn't like it just because he did it.
I agree that the border needed to be fixed. You know, I understand.
Former Vice President Mike Pence: Tax cuts have been extended.
BILL MAHER: Well, I don't know about that.
Former Vice President Mike Pence: And look, after October 7th, candidate Trump and President Trump unapologetically defended Israel and finally became the first presidents in history to directly engage Iran last year and this year. That's commendable.
BILL MAHER: I know, and I've praised him. The problem is, he's doing other bad things, too. And I won't stop talking about them. Dodge, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the corruption, the vendetta he's taken, the rejection of the election results.
These are just the five most important points. It seems to me... Sorry, but that's how I feel.
