Charli D'Amelio has opened up about her mental health amid rumors of a rift between her and her parents, Marc and Heidi D'Amelio. In a May 31st post on her TikTok page, the 22-year-old content creator shared a photo of herself crying, captioning it: "I'll be back to dancing later, I'm depressed, leave me alone." Several months ago, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Charli and her parents no longer followed each other on Instagram, where the influencer has a whopping 40 million followers. Over the weekend, reports of a family feud began circulating, with some claiming the conflict stemmed from a money dispute.

For his part, Mark responded to comments on a DeuxMoi post about the controversy, which claimed Charlie had discovered millions of dollars being transferred from accounts opened during the period when her parents were managing her career. "No one has called me asking for an interview," Mark wrote. "That's not true. We love Charlie, but she's being manipulated, and I have proof. We've been silent for the past six years and never commented on the gossip, but it's time to set the record straight.".
When PEOPLE reached out to Mark for comment, he added, "I have nothing to say other than the post on 100% is untrue." PEOPLE reached out to Charli for comment regarding the alleged conflict and Mark's statements. Following his comment on the post, Mark also went live on TikTok (which was subsequently reposted online) to say that he, Charli, and her mother, Heidi, hadn't spoken in quite some time. He also claimed that Charli had been manipulated by people on her team.

He added that he always sought to "protect" his daughters in their business endeavors. The sisters became some of TikTok's first viral stars, and their success led to the creation of a series. «The D'Amelio Show» on Hulu, which followed the lives of all four family members, their newfound fame, business opportunities, and relationships in Los Angeles. Originally from Connecticut, they moved to California after Charli and Dixie began gaining popularity on social media. The series ran for three seasons, ending in October 2023. On TikTok, Charli has a staggering 159.2 million followers. She is the second most popular person on the platform, behind only Italian-Senegalese influencer Xabi Lama, who has over 160 million followers for his videos where he silently reacts to life hacks.
