Legends Saturday Night Live starred together in John Landis's hit 1983 comedy «"Switch places »"In this beloved Christmas movie, street hustler Billy Ray (Murphy) and wealthy businessman Louis (Aykroyd) swap lives as a result of a bet between Louis's bosses based on the influence of heredity and upbringing.
Aykroyd has already retired from his role as one of the original members. SNL and achieved success on the big screen in Landis's "« The Blues Brothers» , which he co-wrote with the director. Meanwhile, Murphy was still in the midst of his iconic performance. on SNL and at 22 years old he was starring in only his second film. Within a year he was released «Beverly Hills Cop» , and Murphy soared to the top of Hollywood's list of most in-demand actors.

Although Aykroyd was unable to attend in person, his daughter read a speech he had prepared.
«"Good evening, sir," Belle read. "We made a real classic hit together, man. A critical and financial success. «"Trading Places"» "Now in the pantheon of Christmas movies, for heaven's sake. It had a solid script, a great director in John Landis, plus talented and beloved actors, but, Eddie, it was you. It was your strength, brilliance, talent, skill, and sheer charisma that elevated this film to the ranks of the greats.".
In closing, Aykroyd delivered his memorable line to Murphy in in the film Trading Places »": "You look great, Billy Ray.".
