On Wednesday, May 27, the celebrity chef shared a video of the two of them cooking in the kitchen, writing, "JD picks a recipe from Instagram for us to make together?? (I've lost count!)"«

Jade, 18, holds a package of her mother's Giadzy brand fusilli corti pasta at the start of a cooking class.
«"At school, everyone always asks me if I can make them vodka pasta," Jade tells 55-year-old Jada. "Because apparently she's a good cook or something," she jokes.
As Jada leaned over the stove, Jade warned, "You almost set yourself on fire.".
«"Really? I thought we turned it off," the former Food Network employee replies.
After the steak is seasoned, Jade grates the cheese, and Jada stirs the pasta, accidentally dropping it on the plate. Jada smiles at the camera, scoops out the cheese, and wipes it off with a paper towel. "Let's just wipe the cheese off," she advises Jade. Then Jade declares, "This doesn't taste very good," before adding a little salt. "Satisfied," Jada finally says when the pasta is done.

Fellow chef Brooke Williamson commented on the video, saying she would love to cook with her teenage son, Hudson.
«"Maybe Jade could talk to Hudson about how great it is to cook with Mom?" she wrote.
In another cooking video, Jada and Jade made Buldak ramen, a popular brand of instant noodles on TikTok.
In March, De Laurentiis posted a birthday message for Jade on her 18th birthday.
«"I blinked and woke up next to an 18-year-old this morning 😭," she began the caption of the photo on Instagram.
«"I'm so grateful to have spent the last week of your seventeenth birthday with you, Jade. Your intelligence, your kindness, your beauty, your laughter—I will forever admire who you have become," De Laurentiis continued.
She concluded the post with, "You are my greatest gift—I love you more than you will ever know! Happy Birthday, JD!!!!"«
Jade will be a freshman at New York University in the fall, and the cookbook author is Super Italian style« She told PEOPLE in January that college would be a "whole new chapter" for her.
«"The season of motherhood is kind of over," she said. "But I'm not done yet; she's going off to college, so I'm no longer around every day like I have been for the last 18 years, and that's a huge change.".
De Laurentiis admitted it felt "very weird" to be the mother of a future college student.
«"It's really exciting, but I think it's also incredibly emotional because everything I do with her, I feel like it's one of the last times I'll ever do it this way," she said. "I know people say, 'Yeah, but they're coming home for the holidays.' But it's completely different. They're not living in your house anymore.".
«"She might never live in my house again," she added. "And even if she does, she'll be in her twenties. It'll be a completely different experience. And I only have one child, so that's it. So I think it's both emotional and exciting, and there's a lot to deal with.".
