Gabrielle Union is confident that her daughter Kaavia is capable of achieving all of her goals, both on and off the field.
PEOPLE recently spoke with the 53-year-old actress about her collaboration with Casamigos ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and the proud mom shared one of her 7-year-old daughter's biggest accomplishments to date.
«"I think Serena's youngest daughter has passed her, but for a long time, Kaav was the youngest owner in professional sports," Union said, referring to Serena Williams, 44, and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, whose daughters, Olympia, 8, and Adira, 2, co-own the Angel City Soccer Club and the Los Angeles Golf Club.

«"Kaavia and I both invested in Angel City [FC]," Union explained. (She co-parents Kaavia with her husband, Dwyane Wade, and is also the adoptive mother of Wade's children from a previous relationship: Zaira, 24, Zaya, 18, and Xavier, 12. Wade, the 44-year-old co-owner of the Utah Jazz, is also the legal guardian of his nephew, Daveon Morris, 21.)
«"She has her own investments and her own managers," Union, who played soccer for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, told PEOPLE. "But yes, she's a minority owner of the Angel City Soccer Club, and she likes to go watch the girls play because we can be right next to each other. But I'd really like to see her play [soccer].".
Union's love for soccer began in early childhood, and she hopes Kaavia will embrace the sport as well. "My younger sister, who lives with us and helps us take care of our daughter, and I played soccer year-round," she said. "We would have loved it.".
At the time of the interview, the actress, known for film "The Goat"« , said Kaavia has already held two soccer camps this school year alone and already has a leg up in terms of connections in the soccer world. "Sydney Leroux coaches her kids, and they're about the same age," Union told PEOPLE. "So my dream would be for her to play with Sydney's kids.".
Actress from the series «Being Mary Jane» made sure that Kaavia was introduced to this sport as early as possible.
In March 2021, Union posted a video on Instagram of herself and Wade playing soccer with their youngest child in their backyard on a sunny day.
