Mick Jagger said he was "looking forward" to The Rolling Stones returning to the road, although fans shouldn't expect an announcement anytime soon.
On air Tracks of My Years programs On BBC Radio 2 with Ronnie Wood, Jagger was asked if the Stones ever planned to tour again. "I'd love to tour, I can't wait," he said, before tempering expectations slightly. "I don't think it'll be this year. But hopefully it will happen as soon as possible.".

These comments come after the band canceled plans for a UK and European stadium tour in 2026 in late 2025, following reports that Keith Richards was unable to "confirm" his participation. Richards has since hinted at a possible return to touring in 2027, and Jagger's latest statements support this possibility.
The interview comes ahead of the band's 25th studio album. Foreign Tongues , scheduled for release on July 10th via Polydor/Universal Music. The album was recorded in less than a month at Metropolis Studios in West London under the direction of producer Andrew Watt, who also worked on Hackney Diamonds album 2024. The recording featured Paul McCartney, Robert Smith of The Cure, Steve Winwood and the late Charlie Watts.
Jagger said his collaboration with Robert Smith happened by chance at an industry event. "He was standing with his back to me, wearing a long dress, and when he turned around, he was covered in lipstick," Jagger said. "I asked, 'Are you Robert Smith from The Cure?' He said, 'Yeah, we've never met.' And I said, 'Since you're here, you better do something.' That's how collaborations sometimes work.".
McCartney, who also took part in the recording of the album Hackney Diamonds , told NME about his contribution, calling it "really exciting." "It was really nice just to walk into the studio with my bass guitar and say, 'So, where do you want me to record?'" he said. "'You start playing, they show you the song, and I start thinking, 'I'm playing with the Rolling Stones!'"«
В Foreign Tongues album The album includes previously released tracks "Rough and Twisted" and "In the Stars," as well as a cover of the late Amy Winehouse's "You Know I'm No Good." The full track listing was released earlier this month, and the song titles on streaming platforms are listed in various foreign languages.
In 2024 Hackney Diamonds album debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, the band's highest US chart position since Voodoo Lounge took 2nd place in 1994.
