Police have officially closed their investigation into Hulk Hogan's death, releasing a 72-page report with additional details that show authorities found no evidence of foul play.

«"The investigation into the death of Terry Bollea has been completed and is classified as a medically assisted death," the Clearwater Police Department in Florida said in a statement posted on its website on Friday.

The former wrestler turned actor and reality television star died on July 24, 2025, at his home in Clearwater, Florida. He was 71.

Hogan's cause of death was not immediately known. But on July 31, 2025, Entertainment Weekly was able to confirm from medical records that he died of acute myocardial infarction, commonly referred to as a heart attack. According to medical records, the former professional wrestler suffered from leukemia and atrial fibrillation, a common condition that causes an irregular heartbeat. His death was ruled natural.

The Chicago police report provided additional details about Hogan's death, stating that it was "solely due to apparent natural illness, without any reasonable traumatic or terminal toxicological sequelae. Therefore, the cause of death is also natural.".

«"After a thorough review of statements, medical records, surveillance footage from the residence, and a visual examination of Mr. Bollea's body, no evidence was found to indicate that Terry Bollea's death was anything other than natural," the Chicago police report states. "The investigation uncovered no evidence to suggest any criminal foul play related to his death. This case will be closed and considered solved, with no criminal charges involved.".

According to the report, a Chicago police officer responded to the home at approximately 10:21 a.m. on July 24, 2025, for a "possible medical emergency." CPR was administered, and Hogan was transported to Morgan Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:17 a.m. local time.

The report included footage from police body cameras, including a video interview with occupational therapist Justin McKamey, who was present at the scene of Hogan's death and spoke with officers immediately after the reality TV star died at his home. "Justin reported that Mr. Bollea's health had been very poor since the surgery," the report stated. "Over the years, Mr. Bollea had undergone approximately 20-30 different surgeries on his knees, hips, and back.".

According to transcripts included in the official Chicago police report, Hogan's wife, Skye Daly, was also home when emergency responders arrived.

The former WWE champion's family, including Daley, his first wife Linda Claridge, their son Nick Hogan and daughter Brooke Hogan, have previously raised questions about the circumstances of his death.

Shortly after his death, Brooke, 37, wrote on social media that she believed there was still "speculation and uncertainty" surrounding her father's death and that she would personally pay for an autopsy "if it is needed.".

«"My father's dignity and legacy deserve it," she added.

Daley appeared to respond to Brooke's concerns in an Instagram post dedicated to Hogan's memory and thanking those who attended his funeral. "Terry chose cremation, knowing that this physical life is temporary, but his heavenly body is eternal. He has not yet been cremated as our family is first sorting out all the questions regarding his medical care," she wrote.

«"Once we have peace of mind, we will honor his wish and fulfill it with love and respect," she added.

Nick, Claridge, and Daly later shared the questions they still had about the neck surgery Hogan underwent just two months before his death in the documentary series «Hulk Hogan: A Real American» , which premiered on Netflix in April.

«"It's weird because I've never trained at his gym without him. But in a way, it's nice to be around his dumbbells and barbells," Nick said at the end of the fourth and final episode of the series, pumping iron with his father. "It was just hard to process. Everyone knows he had neck surgery. And there were some complications after the neck surgery.".

Daley shared a photo of the couple taken "the day before Terry had neck surgery. We're smiling, his eyes are shining—and he's never looked back.".

A representative for the former wrestler, who retired in 2014, told TMZ last May that Hogan had undergone "minor bone fusion surgery" to "feel a little better.".

Nick told in the program Real American , that towards the end of his father's life, "for about two and a half months, we were in and out of hospitals. But he still showed incredible resilience and fortitude.".

With tears in her eyes, Daley admitted: «It’s a shame he had to have neck surgery.».
