Quentin Tarantino is not thrilled with modern films.
Director «Pulp Fiction» stated in an interview with the publication Sight & Sound (quote from Variety ), that it is «practically impossible» to enjoy a new film without nitpicking it «to death.».
«"Flaws, implausibility, pandering to the audience, inappropriate actors, or just plain stupidity usually ruin every new film that comes out of the tasteless sausage factory that once called itself Hollywood," Tarantino said. "These days, the very concept of film evokes more contempt in me than generosity.".
The director also said the 2020s make his previous least favorite era of Hollywood cinema, the 1980s, look good.
«"Compared to the films of the last six years, the films of the 80s seem like the films of the 30s," Tarantino opined.

Film director «Jackie Brown» listed several films he "liked" from the early 2020s: «West Side Story» Steven Spielberg and «Horizon: An American Saga» Kevin Costner (the second of which never received a full theatrical release outside of festivals).
Despite his love for these films, the director said he had never seen anything that "truly captured me and transported me to that magical land of delight that I [used to] regularly visit and that was the reason I loved cinema more than any other art form.".
He added: "Lately I prefer reading books.".

Tarantino also noted his favorite element of the film: "The real highlight of this magnificent collection is the stunning script by Carnahan and Michael McGrail.".

Director film "Django Unchained"« recently sparked controversy with his disparaging remarks about actors he dislikes, including Paul Dano, Matthew Lillard, and Owen Wilson. Tarantino's next project will be a film «"The Adventures of Cliff Booth"» , continuation «Once Upon a Time in Hollywood» . The director wrote and produced the film, and David Fincher directed it. The film is scheduled to premiere on November 25 and will be released on Netflix on December 23.
