I grew up watching movies starring Robin Williams, «Mork and Mindy» to «"Hook"» , but one of my favorites is his classic 90s family hit «Mrs. Doubtfire» . Since the actor's death, stories from his co-stars continue to remind me of how wonderful he was. These touching stories always evoke strong emotions. One of his co-stars on "Mrs. Doubtfire," Lisa Jakub, recently shared how he helped her overcome mental health issues.
The film tells the story of a father who, after a divorce, disguises himself as a nanny to spend time with his three children. And it was truly the first time someone was so open and taught me not to be ashamed of these things, that I could get help and support, and that I didn't have to feel like some weird weirdo for what I was struggling with. It really impacted me that Williams was so accepting, loving, and open with me about what he was going through.
Besides Jakub, her co-stars also spoke openly about their own experiences. Matthew Lawrence previously spoke about the profound conversations he had with Williams on set. The actor spoke candidly about how Williams changed his life by being honest with him about his drug abuse and even taught him how to work behind the camera.
