The series recently ended its run. «"Euphoria"» , whose three seasons on HBO have the world talking. The series (available via HBO Max subscription) attracted a lot of attention in its third season, which featured a storyline involving Sydney Sweeney's OnlyFans. It turns out Sam Levinson initially wanted to do it without nude scenes... until the actress objected.
While fans debate the series finale «"Euphoria"» , Cassie Howard's presence on The O.C. and the explicit nude scenes Sweeney filmed throughout Season 3 have been hotly debated. Speaking to The New York Times, showrunner, writer, and director Levinson discussed his initial approach to Cassie's content, stating:
It's funny, when I was first writing the script, I thought: maybe we can shoot all this without nudity? Maybe there are ways to do it without certain scenes?
Even before Sydney Sweeney got naked in season three, the new season «Euphoria» There were numerous explicit scenes on OnlyFans. We saw the actress in revealing outfits, dressed as both a dog and a baby. So Levinson could have done without the star being naked. «Madame Web» . Although, apparently, Sweeney insisted on showing everything, as Levinson later recounted:
She looked at me and said something like, "Are you kidding me? I'm modeling on OnlyFans. Are you telling me you're going to avoid it somehow?"«
That's brave! But since Sweeney had already filmed several explicit scenes in the first two seasons «"Euphoria »" , she didn't seem to mind doing it again in season three. In fact, she felt it was necessary to bring Cassie's OnlyFans storyline to life.

Besides the scenes in "Brittle Star," Sweeney also stripped naked when Cassie had sex with famed actor Dylan Reed (Homer Gere). Then there was a wild fantasy/dream sequence where Cassie grew to kaiju size and was shown destroying Los Angeles... including pressing her naked breasts against a skyscraper window. Sam Levinson elaborated on how frivolously Sydney Sweeney acted in «Euphoria» , noting:
I think she's a completely fearless actress. She's also a truly remarkable professional and brings her full attention to the work every day. I really enjoy working with her because there's so much flexibility in terms of acting. There's a tremendous amount of trust between us.
The word "fearless" certainly fits those of us who watched all three seasons of the Emmy Award-winning HBO series. Cassie Howard is a fierce character, and many of us would probably have balked at such explicit work, including nudity and sex scenes. But Sydney Sweeney pulled it all off and helped make her character from "Euphoria"« a truly iconic figure in pop culture.
Season 3 «Euphoria» is available to watch in its entirety on HBO Max as part of the 2026 TV schedule. The series has come to an end, and I'm curious to see how it performs at the Emmy Awards.
