According to new information from industry insider MyTimeToShineHello on X, Elektra Natchios may lead the Hand organization in the third season of Daredevil: Rebirth. The insider wrote, "The Hand will return in Rebirth season 3 under Elektra's leadership." Marvel Studios officially announced the third season for September 18, 2025, with filming already underway and a Disney+ premiere scheduled for March 2027.
Elektra, played by Elodie Yung in the original Daredevil and Defenders series, was last seen buried beneath a collapsed building on Midland Circle. She seized power within the Hand organization after assassinating its leader, Alexandra Reed, in the Defenders series. Showrunner Erik Oleson previously noted that Elektra's body was never found beneath the rubble. He stated that her status was intentionally left vague, referring to her simply as "missing in action.".
The character's history with the Hand is deeply intertwined with the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. The ancient organization resurrected Elektra using the remnants of its Resurrection Elixir after Nobu Yoshioka killed her. Alexandra Reed then trained her as Black Sky, the prophesied leader of the Hand and its ultimate weapon. Elektra ultimately betrayed Reed and seized complete command of the organization before the building's destruction.
The Hand will also appear in Spider-Man: New Day, potentially setting the stage for its return in Rebirth's third season. The upcoming season will also see the return of several fan-favorite heroes joining the fight. Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Matt Murdock, Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, and Wilson Bethel as Bullseye. Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and Finn Jones will reprise their roles as Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. Deborah Ann Woll will also return as Karen Page for the eight-episode season.
Dario Scardapane is the showrunner for the third season, which will premiere exclusively on Disney+ in March 2027.
