DC Studios has unveiled new footage of several animated series slated for release in the next few years. DC is developing several standalone storylines and subplots within its broader comic book franchise, including the core DC Universe, under the leadership of DC Co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. While many of these projects are feature-length films and television shows, animation also plays a significant role in the broader DC universe.
Warner Bros. (WB) Animation and DC Studios unveiled a massive banner at the 2026 Annecy International Animated Film Festival, currently underway in France. The banner features 10 animated projects in development by the two major studios.

Mister Miracle
In early 2026, James Gunn confirmed the release of a third animated series in the DC Universe, titled Mister Miracle. Set in the world of DC's New Gods, the series centers on escape artist superhero Scott Free, who is called to return to his home planet after a conflict between it and the home of Big Barda, his one true love and wife.
While plot details and release dates are still under wraps, the series will feature the first DC Universe version of the iconic villain Darkseid.
My Adventures with Superman
«My Adventures with Superman is one of the most popular DC animated series of the past few years, premiering on Adult Swim and HBO Max in July 2023. The series stars The Boys star Jack Quaid as the voice of Superman, charting his rise as a hero and the beginnings of his relationships with Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen.
Season three began airing in mid-June, introducing a host of exciting new Superman variants for Clark to interact with throughout the season.
Creature Commandos
The Annecy poster also features three main characters from DC Studios' Creature Commando, James Gunn's first official DC Universe release. The series has been renewed for a second season, which will feature a new version of Task Force M, leading Amanda Waller and Rick Flag on an undisclosed mission.
The poster features characters from the series: robot soldier Sean Gunn, Indira Varma's fiancée, and David Harbour's Frankenstein. The first season is available on HBO Max, and a second season is in development, but its release date has not yet been determined.
Get Giro (not DC)
Amid the announcement of several DC series, Warner Bros. also unveiled a non-DC project: a new series for Adult Swim called Get Jiro! This animated adaptation of the dystopian graphic novel by the late Anthony Bourdain and Joel Rose is set in near-future Los Angeles, with celebrity chefs playing the role of brutal warlords.
The series will star "Chicago Med" star Brian Tee, and also feature Titus Welliver, Alison Pill, and Justin Kirk. It is scheduled to premiere later this year.
Bat-family
The Bat-Family series, a spinoff of the 2023 film Fun Little Batman, which premiered on Prime Video in November 2025, introduces a family-oriented version of the hero and his classic team of supporting characters. The series explores the functioning of the Batman family, focusing primarily on Bruce Wayne, Damian Wayne, and Alfred Pennyworth as they watch over Gotham and strengthen their familial bonds.
At the time of writing, there is no information that the series will be renewed for a second season.
My Adventures with Green Lantern
In the same vein as My Adventures with Superman (now in its third season), DC Animation will take a similar approach to the Green Lantern character in My Adventures with Green Lantern. Introduced in episode 3 of My Adventures with Superman season 2, this spinoff follows Jessica Cruz's high school years, as she is chosen by the Power Ring as its champion to battle fearsome alien foes.
Moana star Auli'i Cravalho has been confirmed to voice the title character.
Batman: The Caped Crusader
After a long two-year wait, Batman: The Caped Crusader will return for a second season, which premieres on July 31. Ahead of its release on Amazon Prime Video, Annecy noted that the series features Batman (played by Hamish Linklater) in the 1940s and 1960s, and that the story is set in the 1960s.
The first footage from the second season of "The Fugitive Crusader" appeared in June, confirming that the new episodes would feature a gender-bending character playing the villainous Mad Hatter.
Starfire!
The alien heroine Starfire, who has previously appeared in several Teen Titans-based series, will be getting her own standalone animated series, Starfire!, from James Gunn. The series is conceived as a family origin story about a princess who discovers an ancient spaceship on Tamaran and uses it to explore space and escape her home planet.
In this story, Starfire will encounter Crash (a space biker), plant-loving Fern, and Princess Amethyst from the Gem World, meeting new intergalactic creatures and facing new challenges.
DC Superpowers
Three images hint at new versions of classic DC heroes in the upcoming animated series DC Super Powers. The series takes place at the Alliance School for Heroes, where a group of young students, reimagined as classic DC heroes, train under the guidance of the school's headmaster, Martian Manhunter.
The series is expected to feature characters such as Lightning, Flash, Plastic Man, Aquagirl, Green Lantern, Terra, and many more.
The banner released in Annecy featured these three heroes: Lightning, Plastic Man and Flash.
An unnamed crypto project
A new version of Superman's classic canine companion, Krypto the Super-Dog, has appeared on a poster in Annecy. Given its design differs from the version of Krypto featured in the HBO Max shorts "Krypto Saves the Day!", it's likely a character from a new, as-yet-untitled Krypto series, details of which are currently scarce.
Some speculate that this could be a new project from animator C.H. Greenblatt, known for creating the animated series Chowder for Cartoon Network.
