KSI has left the group Sidemen after nearly 13 years.
On Sunday, the British content maker, whose real name is Olajide Olatunji, announced his departure in a YouTube video, calling it "the hardest video I've ever had to make in my life.".
«"I debated this for a long time. I spent months trying to figure out what the right decision was, but after much consideration, I've decided I'm done making Sidemen videos," he added.

He said that this day would be his last as part of the extremely popular seven-member band, which he called his "second family.".
«We’ve traveled the world together,” he continued. “We’ve created something that none of us could have imagined, especially back when we were just making random videos playing GTA . I still remember those early days when I had no idea that tens of millions of people would watch our channel, and somehow it turned into an incredible journey together.".
In 2023, Forbes ranked 32-year-old KSI second on its list of the highest-paid content creators, with an annual income of just under $24 million. He has 18.4 million subscribers on YouTube and 13 million on Instagram; the Sidemen collectively have 47 million subscribers across their YouTube channels and social media platforms.
«"For so long I tried to be everything to everyone, tried to be everywhere, tried to do everything, tried to not let anyone down, but somewhere along the way I started to lose balance in my own life," KSI explained.
«"I've been struggling to find enough time for myself... I've definitely been struggling to find time for my family. I've been struggling to find time for the people I love, and I realized something has to change. Sidemen deserve someone who can give 100%, and right now I know I can't. It wouldn't be fair to the guys, it wouldn't be fair to you, and it wouldn't be fair to me.".
It appears the streamer didn't notify the rest of the Sidemen about his departure, with the team posting on Instagram that his departure "came as a surprise to us.".
«"We are sad to announce that [KSI] has decided not to continue with the Sidemen," the band wrote. "We've had a wonderful time with him along the way and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.".
