In his new article for the magazine, Oscar-winning director Quentin Tarantino doesn't mince words when describing the state of contemporary Hollywood cinema.
Tarantino is, of course, known for his selectivity in his film choices, and until he decides on his tenth and final film, he has turned to writing novels, essays, and filmmaking. «"These days, the very concept of cinema inspires more contempt than generosity in me," Tarantino added. "And rightfully so, because the films of the last six years make the '80s seem like the '30s.".

Tarantino recently named the films he liked.
In an essay published in May 2026 in Sight & Sound magazine, Quentin Tarantino, criticizing the latest Hollywood releases, wrote that he liked the remake of the classic musical "« West Side Story» Steven Spielberg's 2021 films, as well as Kevin Costner's epic Westerns «Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1"» и «Chapter 2» (Although «Chapter 2» (The film hasn't been released yet, but it has already been shown at the Venice Film Festival and the Santa Barbara International Film Festival).
