Olivia Rodrigo isn't wasting time promoting her new album by chasing every internet theory about Taylor Swift.
The 23-year-old singer-songwriter addressed long-standing rumors during her podcast appearance. The New York Times Popcast, where she was asked about the intense public scrutiny surrounding her relationships with other artists. The issue arose after Rodrigo and Swift were photographed leaving a Paul McCartney concert around the same time.
Rodrigo dismissed the incident as evidence of a feud. "I don't think too much of it," she said, according to PEOPLE. She called such speculation "quite commonplace.".
Rodrigo said she couldn't verify every theory put forward online.
Rodrigo said it would be impossible to keep track of every fan theory about her personal life.
«"If I immersed myself in every online investigation that gave me some kind of answer about my life or my relationships, I'd probably go crazy," she said, according to PEOPLE. "There's just not enough time in the day.".
She also linked this sentiment to the reaction to "Drivers License," her 2021 breakout single. Entertainment Weekly reported that Rodrigo said the initial attention caused her to distance herself from the speculation because she had to distance herself "to literally feel good.".
Rumors about the release of this album began to spread even before its release.

Rumors of a romance between Rodrigo and Swift emerged after years of fan attention to Rodrigo's debut album. Sour . Rodrigo credited Swift and Jack Antonoff as writers of the song "1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back," which features an interpolation of Swift's song "New Year's Day.".

The comments came before the release of Rodrigo's third album.
Rodrigo's appearance on Popcast comes ahead of the release of her third studio album. You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love . According to Pitchfork, the album is scheduled for release on June 12 via Geffen Records, and will see Rodrigo once again collaborate with producer Dan Nigro.
Apple Music's official listing indicates that the album is a 14-song pre-release and will be released on June 12.
The release rekindled old questions about Swift, but Rodrigo's response remained brief. She acknowledged the speculation without turning it into a new feud.
